Kronologi Kecelakaan Chernobyl yang Dahsyat

bahas mitologi udah, menara eiffel sama big ben juga udah, terus yang kece kece juga udah. Nah sekarang gue mau cerita dikit tentang salah satu kenangan buruk orang ukraina, gue mau bahas tentang kejadian chernobyl, ledakan nuklir terparah sepanjang sejarah. Sebenernya gue tau tentang kejadian itu waktu baca koran tentang museum chernobyl beberapa waktu lalu, nih ini kronologinya

Pada tanggal 26 April 1985, pukul 1.24 dini hari, unit 4 Pembangkit Tenaga nuklir Chernobyl meledak. Terjadi dua kali ledakan sangat besar dalam waktu 3 detik, yang telah meruntuhkan atap gedung. Gas radioaktif, reruntuhan bangunan, dan material berasal dari dalam gedung reaktor, terlempar ke udara setinggi dua per tiga mil (1 km). Potongan serpihan bahan bakar reaktor yang sangat panas beterbangan di udara dan jatuh dalam jarak nyaris mencapai 1 mil (1,6 km) jauhnya, menyulut kebakaran radioaktif yang menerangi wilayah itu

Dua pekerja terbunuh seketika, dan dua puluh sembilan orang berkubang dalam radiasi yang begitu tinggi sehingga mereka bisa dikatakan tewas mulai itu. meski sebagian besar di antara mereka masih hidup selama beberapa minggu di rumah sakit, dan merasakan penderitaan tahap akhir keracunan yang ekstrem ini. Ratusan ribu orang dievakuasi dari kota-kota di sekitarnya, tak terhitung banyaknya hewan yang dimusnahkan untuk menghindari tertelan daging yang telah terkena radiasi beracun, dan banyak negara-negara Eropa menolak pengapalan padi dari wilayah mana pun yang berada dekat dengan Ukraina, meminta para penduduk untuk mencuci semua buah-buahan serta sayur sayuran, meski mereka adalah penduduk asli negara mereka sendiri.

Kecelakaan Chernobyl terjadi karena beberapa pekerja mencoba melakukan eksperimen secara tidak resmi dan berkekuatan rendah, yang mencakup tindakan mematikan sistem pendingin darurat. Pada saat setiap orang menyadari bahwa inti terlalu panas, semua sudah terlambat untuk memutar balikkan proses ini (mereka kurang hati-hati dengan membiarkan panas membengkokan saluran di mana serpihan-serpihan bahan bakar seharusnya masuk kesana) hal berikutnya yang mereka tahu adalah atap telah terbang, dua orang tewas dan awan gas yang mematikan telah menyebar di seluruh daerah.

Radioaktivitas dari ledakan Chernobyl akhirnya terdeteksi hingga ke Amerika serikat. Pemimpin Uni soviet tidak mengatakan sepatah kata pun tentang ledakan ini hingga dua hari kemudian, tanggal 28 april, setelah para ilmuwan swedia melaporkan terjadinya peningkatan radioaktif di atmosfer negara mereka sendiri, kemudian melacaknya kembali ke Chernobyl. Bahkan setelah mereka beritakan apa yang telah terjadi, pada penduduk Soviet sama sekali tidak memiliki cara untuk menanggapi bencana monumental semacam ini.

Pada senja 26 April, Kremlin membentuk komite penyelidik dan memerintahkan Valeri Legasov dari otoritas ketenaganukliran Uni Sovet ke Chernobyl. Ia menjumpai 2 orang telah tewas dan 52 dirawat di rumah sakit, dengan gejala2 nyata akibat paparan radiasi berlebihan. Dosimeternya juga menunjukkan tingkat paparan radiasi yang sangat tinggi di sejumlah titik. Pada 27 April 14:00 ia memerintahkan dimulainya evakuasi penduduk kota Pripyat dan sekitarnya. Agar tidak timbul kepanikan, detil bencana tidak diberitahukan kepada penduduk, dan agar beban tidak terlalu berat, diberitahukan kepada penduduk bahwa evakuasi bersifat temporal, hanya untuk 3 hari. Total penduduk yang dievakuasi sejumlah 336.000 orang. Eh tapi yang lebih ngeri dampaknya bukan hanya dirasakan sama orang yang ngalamin kejadian itu aja, tapi juga sama generasi generasi setelahnya, mereka mengalami mutasi gen yang disebabkan radiasinya, akhirnya mreka mengalami kecacatan, kebayang kan berapa banyak orang yang dampaknya :O oh iya sampe sekarang kota Pripyat sama kota Chernobyl masih mati loh, ga ada yang berani nginjakin kakinya kesana karena kedua kota itu belum 100% terbebas dari radiasi nuklirnya.
